Ich freue mich sehr, heute über  Mojo Pin zu schreiben. Ich durfte Mojo Pin vor zwei Wochen auf einer Hochzeit erleben und war sofort begeistert! Für mich war das die perfekte musikalische Begleitung für Empfang & Dinner.

Das Interview habe ich mit dem Sänger und Gründer Pat Lawson geführt:

Seit wann gibt es Mojo Pin?
Die Vision zu Mojo Pin hatte ich bereits vor ca. 6 Jahren. Vor knapp 5 Jahren fanden hierzu dann auch bereits die ersten Proberaum Sessions statt, als ich mein Team an Musikern zusammen hatte. Die ersten ca, 1,5 Jahre jedoch verbrachten wir hauptsächlich damit spezielle auf das Konzept abgestimmte Arrangements umzuschreiben und die “Mojo-Magic” zu erzeugen, danach folgten einzelne Probe Gigs in diversen Münchner Underground Clubs und Bars. Als wir uns dann vor zwei Jahren neu formieren mussten, war allen klar, das muss es sein und es folgten im Anschluß auch direkt die ersten Aufträge und Bookings für große Unternehmen.

Welche Art von Musik macht ihr und was macht euch so besonders?
Mojo Pin ist eine – wie ich es gerne sage – Akustik Pop Band, was nicht heissen soll, dass wir herkömmliche Pop Songs spielen. Wir spielen populäre Jazz, Rock, R’n'B Songs in komplett abgeänderten und magischen Arrangements.

Wie spielt ihr?
Auf der Bühne sind wir als Musiker kopfmäßig absolut frei und somit drehen sich bei uns die Veranstaltungen – entgegen vieler Cover Bands – niemals nur um Mojo Pin, sondern immer um den jeweiligen Anlass. Die Kombination der akustischen Instrumente (diese sind Cajon – ersetzt das klassische und meist zu laute Schlagzeug, akustische Gitarre, Kontrabass, Trompete und Kongas) erlaubt es uns sowohl das gediegene 5 Gänge-Dinner zu untermalen oder die Geschäftsbeziehungen im Rahmen eines Firmenempfangs/ einer Netzwerkparty dezent zu fördern, als auch beispielsweise eine private Veranstaltung mit einzigartigen musikalischen Momenten unvergesslich zu machen.

Wo spielt ihr?
Derzeit spielen wir häufig bei sogenannten Red-Carpet-Events von diversen Fashion Stores hier in München (Maximilianstr. und Umgebung). Dort musizieren wir live zur Vorstellung von beispielsweise neuen Kollektionen, VIP-Verkaufsevents oder auch Messe Parties. Im Laufe der letzten Jahre gelang es uns die Band aufgrund unserer Einzigartigkeit hier sehr gut etablieren. …aber auch die Zusammenarbeit mit tollen Event-Managern wie Doreen Winking oder Event-Fotogenies wie Dir, liebe Birgit, sind nach wie vor ganz besondere Gelegenheiten für uns um zu glänzen. Die Liste unserer Referenzen ist inzwischen durchaus ansehnlich und zu finden auf unserer Website. Logischerweise gibt es uns aber auch öffentlich (wie z. B. im Night Club des Hotel Bayerischer Hof, München) zu sehen/hören. Am besten wäre es sich hierfür kurz auf unserer Facebook Bandseite zu vernetzen, dann wird man bei öffentlichen Konzerten auch früh genug darauf hingewiesen.

In January I captured the beautiful winter wedding of Steffi & Stefan in Salzburg. They picked Schloss Leopoldskron as their venue and every single detail perfectly matched and had a meaning… for e.g. Steffi and Stefan are nicknaming each other ‘Mausi’, so there were two little mouses on their logo and as guest name cards and even white mouses in the candy bar. The couple is living in London, so they picked little tea pot-shaped table cards. The menue cards showed the castle and there were different guest presents for every table. The colors white and lilac perfectly fitted the winter theme. And again, the one and only Doreen Winking coordinated this stunning event. Every small detail was thought of and everything ran smoothly. I personally call Doreen ‘Eagle-Eye-Doreen’ – she spots the tiniest thing thats not in place.
The ceremony was held by Tom Preston, a priest from America who is based in Salzburg. He is very easy going and even picked up his guitar to sing a song for Steffi & Stefan. There are lots of people I’d like to mention:

Silvi and Gijora got married ins Timisoara, Romania in October last year. Very exciting for me although I’ve been told many times that Timisoara is not like the rest of the country. The city has a long history and is full of beautiful buildings, unfortunately there is not enough money to restore all of them. The wedding itself was international, I’ve heard german, romanian, hungarian, hebrew and english. A highlight for me was definitely the visit of Silvi’s grandma, who showed me her garden and her pantry. She sent me off to the airport with fresh tomatoes & jars full with her special recipes.

And of course there has been some analog work, too…

It’s heavily snowing today and I’m craving for sun… So I thought it would be nice to review the late-summer wedding of Estelle & Hubert. There was a great atmosphere throughout the day and there was lots of laughter and fun already when I arrived at Estelle’s home. She had her bridesmaids around her while everyone was getting ready. By the way: I totally recommend for every bride to look for a Hair- and Make Up Artist who will come to your home or hotel for the styling. It’s so much more relaxing! The official ceremony took place in Bad Wiessee. Estelle didn’t want to rumple her dress so the plan was to get dressed at the church. It actually had to happen outside the church and that was just so much fun. I loved the flower-bracelets for the bridesmaids! Estelle and Hubert hired a choir for the ceremony: goosebumps atmosphere! The reception took place at a lovely place in Bad Tölz: ViCulinaris.

Seit einer ganzen Weile versuche ich einen Blogpost über meine kleine Reise nach London zu schreiben. Über den wundervollen Jonathan Canlas und FIND. Und darüber, wie toll die Erfahrung war – mein erster Foto-Workshop überhaupt. FIND heisst FILM IS NOT DEAD, es geht also ums analoge fotografieren. Aber nicht nur das, der Workshop zeigt auch, wie man seinen eigenen Stil findet und ein stabiles Business auf- und ausbaut. Jonathan ist ein wundervoller Lehrer, er war ein offenes Buch für die drei Tage und hat wirklich jede Frage beantwortet. Zurück aus London habe ich meine Contax und Hasselblad zu fast jeder Hochzeit mitgenommen und einen Teil der Bilder auf Film gebannt. Einige Beispiele sind hier, hier, hier und hier. Diese analoge Reise werde ich sicher fortsetzen – FILM IS NOT DEAD! Ich weiß, dass Jonathan sehr gerne nach Deutschland reisen würde – ich hoffe also, dass er bereits einen Workshop in München plant!
